Uncovering Requirements

We find that the best way to find out your website and mobile design needs is in conversation with you, either by phone or face to face. We’ll arrange a convenient time for you to talk with us and over 30 minutes or an hour, we’ll discuss your main website or mobile design objectives. We’ll ask you about your product or service offering, who the target audience is and what works to attract new enquiries to the website or mobile application.

Analyzing the designs used by your competitors in your target market

As well as talking to you, we invest time into looking at the competition’s websites in your target market. We will analyze the keywords and mesaging your competitors are using and ensure that we understand what these websites are offering and so that we can position your website the right way. Note: If you require a detailed competitors report, this can also be provided as an additional online marketing service.

Steps

1 – Website or Mobile Design estimate

After we feel we’’ve cracked your requirements, we’ll prepare a website or mobile design estimate for you. We break the website or mobile design plan into a series of short tasks each such as the wireframe stage, the graphics stage and the coding stage. We then assign a time estimate to each stage and ensure that the estimate meets your expectations and budget requirements.

2 – Wireframe stage

Wireframes are simple drawings which display different elements on a page, such as the menu bar or a contact form, should go and what they should do or link to. In this stage, we draw wireframes of the main pages of the website and make sure that the pages are easy to use and easy to navigate. If you already have wireframes for us to work from, that’s cool too!

3 – Graphics stage

In the graphics stage, we design the website or application pages as images. This way you can see exactly how each page will appear on the website. We design the website or web application pages as images first because it is quicker and more cost-effective to make the changes based on your feedback to get the website right.

4 – Coding stage

After nailing down the wireframes and the graphics, we code the pages of your website in HTML5, CSS and AJAX using the latest in web standards. This will give you clickable versions of your web pages. If your website is to go on a content management system such as wordpress, we also integrate the pages with wordpress. If you are developing an application, at the end of this stage you will have a clickable user interface that is ready for integration with your website application or mobile application.

5 – Pre-launch testing stage

We ensure our clients get awesome websites that are fast and well structured for search engine optimization. We write code using the latest in web standards. We optimise page load times and we ensure that your pages are cross-browser compatible on all the main internet browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari for both PC and Mac computers.
note.: We will not test the design in old or abandoned browsers, for example Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 5 for Windows as this browser is now 8 years past its sell-by date.
